Well don’t shed too many tears, Casey and Dave are here to take you back to the best of the rest. High profile names such as Manti Te’o and Geno Smith didn’t have to wait too long on Day 2 to hear their names called but most quarterbacks had to wait until Saturday for that sweet sweet call to put money in their pocket. And with most of the offensive linemen gone it was finally time for the other positions to start filling out. Overall it was a great weekend for football lovers. For a draft supposedly lacking star power and true blue chippers near the top, the 1st round of the 2013 NFL Draft was action packed and full of surprises. The first overall pick was not Luke Joeckel as most experts had speculated but it was another offensive tackle, Eric Fisher from Central Michigan who was taken first. The line of offensive linemen was long but the list of 1st round quarterbacks was not, and the list of 1st round runningbacks was even shorter. EJ Manuel was the only quarterback taken in the first round as he is now a member of the Buffalo Bills. And for the first time since the 1960′s no runningback was taken in the first round. Dave and Casey give you the highlights from Thursday night on this episode of The Football  Radio Show.

The 2013 NFL Schedule comes out next week, but we are such football sickos that we just couldn’t wait to talk about it. The old cynic proverb that ” no good deed goes unpunished” hits the Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens who according to last year’s win percentages hold the 5th toughest schedule in the NFL. Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers actually play the toughest schedule. One look at the Carolina opponents and you’ll understand why their schedule is so tough. While they are not the handsomest of men, it is still always good to be a Manning, especially Peyton Manning. He and the Denver Broncos play the league’s easiest schedule, but as we all know, “shoulda but didn’t”, happens all the time in the NFL. One thing is certain, Casey and Dave love football. Another certainty is that we are slowly inching towards the season and we will ease you into it on this episode of The Football Radio Show.

Baltimore Ravens win Super Bowl XLVII Football Radio Show: Super Bowl XLVII Baltimore Ravens vs San Francisco 49ers Recap

Super Bowl XLVII had a little bit of everything. A record setting performance by Jacoby Jones, a nearly flawless night by Joe Flacco, a big time 49ers comeback, and whole lot of 4th quarter drama. However, when the lights went out for the second and final time of the night it was the Baltimore Ravens that emerged as World Champions. Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco threw for three touchdowns and helped Ray Lewis ride off into the sunset with the Lombardi Trophy in hand as the Baltimore Ravens defeated the San Francisco 49ers 34-31. Colin Kaepernick had a good game, but just as Andrew Luck, Peyton Manning, and Tom Brady found out in the NFL Playoffs, good wasn’t good enough against Ed Reed and the Ravens defense. Dave and Casey break it down one more time on this Super Bowl XLVII Recap edition of The Football Radio Show.

Super Bowl XLVII is finally here and The Football Radio Show couldn’t be more stoked. It’s the Baltimore Ravens taking on the San Francisco 49ers. With as many stories that are surrounding this game, it is not hard to find an area of interest, just take your pick. Is it the family affair with the brothers Harbaugh squaring off? Or the mid-season QB replacement Colin Kaepernick playing in the Super Bowl in only his 10th start vs. Joe Flacco who’s won a Playoff game five years in a row? Or is it the passing of the guard with Patrick Willis going against Ray Lewis on his last ride? One thing is certain, it’s going down this Sunday. So who will be hoisting the Lombardi Trophy on Sunday Night as the winner of Super Bowl XLVII and new World Champs? Dave and Casey let you know when they do it up Super styles on this Baltimore Ravens vs San Francisco 49ers Super Bowl XLVII Preview edition of The Football Radio Show.

Baltimore Ravens Football Radio Show: AFC Championship Recap Baltimore Ravens at New England Patriots

In a rematch of last year’s AFC Championship the New England Patriots played host to the Baltimore Ravens. The Patriots had one of the highest scoring offenses all year but on Sunday settled for early field goals instead of touchdowns. With time running out in the second quarter and one time out left in their pocket, Tom Brady and Bill Belichick  let a key opportunity to take a couple of shots at the end zone slip away. The Pats didn’t reach pay dirt the rest of the game. Ray Lewis and the Ravens defense forced three turnovers and pitched a second half shutout while Joe Flacco kept cool and hit Anquan Boldin for two late touchdowns putting the game away 28-13. With the win the Baltimore Ravens will represent the AFC in Super Bowl XLVII while Dave and Casey represent you with football goodness on this Ravens at Patriots AFC Championship Recap episode of The Football Radio Show.

Mingo Looking to Bring Some Bark Back to the Dog PoundApril 26, 2013 – 9:30 am by Chris Fedor The Cleveland Browns plan this offseason has been very clear: get after the opposing quarterback. That’s what they identified in free agency. They added defensive tackle Desmond Bryant and outside linebacker Paul Kruger. And that’s what they identified with the 6th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Barkevious Mingo. It loosely translates to quarterback killer. Ok, maybe not. But it would be fitting. Misused at LSU (asked to play a lot of contain against dual threat QB’s) Mingo’s production (just 4.5 sacks) doesn’t look worthy …
