NFL Draft Days 2 and 3 Football Radio Show: 2013 NFL Draft Recap Rounds 2 7

When the 2013 NFL Draft was officially over, it kind of felt like the day after Christmas. You’re happy with all your new toys, but still kind of sad it is all over. Well don’t shed too many tears, Casey and Dave are here to take you back to the best of the rest. High profile names such as Manti Te’o and Geno Smith didn’t have to wait too long on Day 2 to hear their names called but most quarterbacks had to wait until Saturday for that sweet sweet call to put money in their pocket. And with most of the offensive linemen gone it was finally time for the other positions to start filling out. Overall it was a great weekend for football lovers. If you missed anything, don’t trip we got you covered on this episode of The Football Radio Show.

NFL Draft Day 1 Football Radio Show: 2013 NFL Draft Round 1 Recap

For a draft supposedly lacking star power and true blue chippers near the top, the 1st round of the 2013 NFL Draft was action packed and full of surprises. The first overall pick was not Luke Joeckel as most experts had speculated but it was another offensive tackle, Eric Fisher from Central Michigan who was taken first. The line of offensive linemen was long but the list of 1st round quarterbacks was not, and the list of 1st round runningbacks was even shorter. EJ Manuel was the only quarterback taken in the first round as he is now a member of the Buffalo Bills. And for the first time since the 1960′s no runningback was taken in the first round. Dave and Casey give you the highlights from Thursday night on this episode of The Football  Radio Show.

The NFL released the schedule for the 2013 Season and now we have a full and tasty slate for NFL goodness that will lead the way to Super Bowl XLVIII. Dave and Casey go through the schedule and pick through the good, the bad, and the ugly. The 2013 NFL Schedule comes out next week, but we are such football sickos that we just couldn’t wait to talk about it. The old cynic proverb that ” no good deed goes unpunished” hits the Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens who according to last year’s win percentages hold the 5th toughest schedule in the NFL. Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers actually play the toughest schedule. One look at the Carolina opponents and you’ll understand why their schedule is so tough. While they are not the handsomest of men, it is still always good to be a Manning, especially Peyton Manning. He and the Denver Broncos play the league’s easiest schedule, but as we all know, “shoulda but didn’t”, happens all the time in the NFL. One thing is certain, Casey and Dave love football. Another certainty is that we are slowly inching towards the season and we will ease you into it on this episode of The Football Radio Show.

Football Radio Show: Divisional Playoff Recap

Divisional Recaps Football Radio Show: Divisional Playoff Recap

Both Conference Championship Games are set but it took a crazy weekend of NFL football to get there. The Divisional Round of the Playoffs got started Saturday with the Broncos hosting the Ravens, and Ray’s last ride will last at least one more week as the Ravens beat the Broncos in double overtime 38-35. Then it was off to San Francisco for the Colin Kaepernick Show as he and the 49ers ran all over the Packers in a 45-31 route. Then it was down to the Dirty on Sunday for Seahawks at Falcons. Russell Wilson rocked out with his Hawk out leading a furious comeback from a 20-0 half time deficit to a 28-27 lead with 31 seconds left in the game. Just enough time for Matty Ice to move the Falcons into field goal range and a 30-28 win. Sunday finished up with Tom Brady and the Patriots hosting the Texans, but Tom rarely treats his guests well and this would be no exception. The Patriots trashed the Texans 41-28. Dave and Casey recap all the action and get you geared up for Championship Sunday on this episode of The Football Radio Show.

The 2012 NFL Season started with a Week 1 battle when the 49ers visited the Packers. The less than gracious guests beat the Packers that week 30-22. Well now the season will end for one of these teams in a rematch but this time it’s the Divisional Round of the Playoffs and this time it’s in San Francisco. Aaron Rodgers and the 12-5 Packers visit Frank Gore and the 11-4-1 49ers. Both teams haunted by last year’s Playoff failures against the Giants, both teams looking to keep marching towards New Orleans. So who has the edge on Saturday Night? Casey and Dave set it up for Shakedown Street on this episode of The Football Radio Show.

Mingo Looking to Bring Some Bark Back to the Dog PoundApril 26, 2013 – 9:30 am by Chris Fedor The Cleveland Browns plan this offseason has been very clear: get after the opposing quarterback. That’s what they identified in free agency. They added defensive tackle Desmond Bryant and outside linebacker Paul Kruger. And that’s what they identified with the 6th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Barkevious Mingo. It loosely translates to quarterback killer. Ok, maybe not. But it would be fitting. Misused at LSU (asked to play a lot of contain against dual threat QB’s) Mingo’s production (just 4.5 sacks) doesn’t look worthy …
